Do it yourself and low cost book scanner

How about a book scanner for less than 300 bucks? Have a look! This really is a nice idea, but I´m honest: I´m very happy to use our professional scanner here at the University in Potsdam ;-) The more interesting part is the Open Community idea behind this project.
